This is my first hand...
This is my first hand gun and also my first project play gun has well.it feels solid!. I just came back from the range today and no issues! Shot 115G,124G,147G bullet monster ate everything. I have to confess fellas.. I change the trigger to apex flat whit all the springs and abextended breakdown bar and added a mag well. I didn't like the original trigger n I never got to fired it so tbh you don't need to upgrade to all this it's still a great started gun!

Being a first time...
Being a first time pistol owner , I was extremely intimidated. I went through the process of constantly dry fire practice learning my weapon & handling it with great safety & proper use , which I will continue. Taking my first trip to the range under experienced guidance I became comfortable & confident to this point , I realized how great the S&W SD9 operated , going forward.

Questions & Answers
Q: Is the magazine release reversible for lefties on this model?
Author: Steve R.
(2) ANSWERS
A: Hi Steve, Yes it is.
Author: Steve P.
A: It is not Steve. Reason is that the Magazines only have the mag catch cut into one side of the magazine and not both sides.

Q: Any comments about this please. Specially California Compliant
Author: Edward J.
(1) ANSWER
A: Edward, these are great pistols for the price. The only difference in the California compliant model and the standard model is the magazine capacity, other than that they are identical. Smith and Wesson makes quality firearms and has great customer service. I would definitely recommend this. Hope this helps.

Q: having a 8lb trigger weight is it very uncomfortable for a senior. Also how many mags come with the gun
Author: Edward J.
(2) ANSWERS
A: Should come with (2) 10 Rounds Magazines. I recommend Canik compact pistol if you want a better trigger. 8lb can be quit painful to practice with. I hope this helps!

A: Ed, this comes with (2) 10rd magazines. Have a great day!

Q: What does "formerly compliant" mean? Last time I checked this one was no longer available to be sold in California since DOJ dropped it from the list.
Author: Carlos R.
(3) ANSWERS
A: Carlos, it means it was not renewed by S&W for the CA DOJ Handgun Roster(which is exactly what CA wanted). This is the list of manufacturers that got fed up with CA's red tape and let their handguns drop off. The list is quite extensive at that : -- https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/de-certified-handguns

A: Carlos, formerly compliant just means it was California compliant and now it's not. Buds is just letting people know it's no longer California compliant. Smith and Wesson didn't pay the $200 renewal fee, so doj dropped it from the list. Hope this helps.
Author: Josh T.
A: Carlos, since it was dropped from the list, it is "formerly compliant". What that really means is that S&W didn't pay CA the $200 extortion fee to keep it on the list. Have a great day!
