By far my favorite...
By far my favorite firearm in my collection. The Springfield Operator has all wants a 1911 can have. From the luminous night sights to the crisp trigger break this is a firearm that competes with the best of them.

Everything I was...
Everything I was promised from Bud's and Springfield, a really quality 1911. Slide to frame is very tight, I hope when I shoot it that this will not be a problem. Had to polish the feed ramp because I could feel a small burr. Easy enough to do very slick now. Overall it appears to be a nicely done piece with a noticeable attention to detail. Looking forward to a comparison with the Kimber I just bought from Bud's. Purchase #20 from Bud's and not even one hiccup, now that's a company to do business with, recommended without any hesitation.

(5) ANSWERS
A: yes it is CA compliant but it does not show up on the Buds CA compliant list so you will need to Contact Buds customer service (859) 368-0371 available 9AM to 9PM CST Monday through Friday or use the blue chat now button and they will help you We are not buds employees we are volunteers that answer questions "A "CA" designation at the end of Springfield product codes indicates the model has the integral locking system (ILS) and is the same handgun model as the one that was tested per California standards. The "CA" will not appear on the handgun."

A: Jeffrey, yes Sir it is. You just may need to direct Buds to the actual CA DOJ Roster as CA recognizes this pistol as approved for sale there. Buds Customer Service contact is 1-859-368-0371 9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri. or use the Blue Chat now button at the bottom right corner 9am to 9pm 7 days a week.

A: Yes Jeffrey it is CA compliant, as indicated by the "CA" after teh model number. Buds had made an administrative error somewhere in their date entry process, but if you contact them, I woudl imagine they'll ship it out expeditiously. Call them at 1-859-368-0371 (9am-9pm EST Mon-Fri) or use the "chat now" button located at the bottom right hand portion of your screen, (9am-9pm EST 7 days a week) and tell them, and they will probably help you place your order - so have your payment method and FFL information ready when you call. Nice 1911, for sure,.

Author: Rick J.
(2) ANSWERS
A: Rick, the integral locking system (ILS) uses a key to lock the the pistol when stored or left unattended. The keyhole is located on the rear of the grip. Stay safe & have a great day!

A: Hi Rick and welcome. Yes Sir. The Integral Locking System (I.L.S.) replaces the mainspring housing of the handgun and when engaged prevents the hammer from moving by locking the mainspring cap, making the gun inoperable. It does not require any modification to the handgun. Picture of the system here (top of the hand grip and uses an allen type key to activate) : https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1762182330 ----------- Cheers and stay safe!

A: Hi Joshua, Springfield Armory paid Dictator Newsome the $200 extortion fee to have it put the CA Approved Handgun Roster. Springfield 1911s must have "CA" in the model number to ship. Stay safe & have a great day!
