Okay, this is a really fun pistol. I bought it along with an 1892 .45 LC lever action from Cimarron so that I'd have a long gun and a pistol that uses the same round.\r \r This piece just works. Very easy shooter. Very little recoil, perhaps due to the weight, but doesn't feel overly heavy for sure. Very accurate. Hint: do not go to the range with a new Glock and this at the same time because you'll try to fire it like a Glock and it doesn't work that way :) (aka too stupid for words, but still having fun)\r \r It is amazingly fun to shoot. It hits what you aim at. For a 'large' caliber piece with a lot of powder, this shoots very easily and does NOT jar your bones. It is so fun that you kind of forget the ammo prices for .45 Colt. The RSOs were happy to give it a go when I offered them a few pieces of free lead and the young guy had an absolutely awesome grouping seconds after picking it up at 30 feet, which is, IMO, perfect old west days range.\r \r I highly recommend this piece for the fun of it. Take down is a bit more involved, but definitely not difficult. Overall, the piece is very well made and it is surprisingly good in the hand. I would happily buy it again if I ever decide to buy the double hostler set-up that you see in old west movies. I want to practice quick draw and shooting at old style beer bottles and tin cans now...

Questions & Answers
Q: Does this model have the new floating firing pin? Or is this the old hammer nose firing pin? Thank you!
Author: Joseph P.
(1) ANSWER
A: On the hammer, hence the phrases, "exact copy", and "parts interchange".
Author: Alex H.
Q: In response to my previous answer, I understand the description said it was an "exact copy" but the reviews said this model had a floating firing pin. I understand the older models had a hammer mounted firing pin like the colt, Just making sure this is the older model. I appreciate it.

(3) ANSWERS
A: I think almost all of Cimarron guns have gone to the Floating firing pin and Cimarron does not list which ones have not so I suggest you call Cimarron and verify it with them Cimarron Firearms Co. Inc. 105 Winding Oak Road Fredericksburg, TX 78624 (830) 997-9090 Fax: (830) 997-0802

A: Brian, yes sir, they both use .45 Colt (or .45 Long Colt) ammunition. Stay safe & have a great day!

A: Hi Brian and welcome. Yes Sir, this pistol is also chambered in .45 Long Colt so fires the same ammo as your Uberti 45 yellow boy 20 inch barrel. Cheers and stay safe!

A: Brian, it sure does. Both use 45 long Colt. So any ammo you have for your Uberti 45 yellow boy will also work in this. Hope this helps.
