After ordering this...
After ordering this pistol it was shipped within two days and arrived at my FFL within three days. You can't beat Bud's for fast service and great prices. The Pietta pistol is great looking and after shooting it is very accurate at 15 yards. Workmanship is excellent with the exception of the plastic grey colored grips. Why would anyone put these grips on a 600 dollar gun? If you like these short barreled colt clones then this would be a good pistol to buy.

After I placed the...
After I placed the order for this 3" Pietta I went back and read the question and answer section and someone said it had the transfer bar safety. Not what I really wanted but I figured i would take it anyway. When I picked it up and examined it fist thing I saw was that it had a hammer mounted firing pin,4 clicks just like the original colt pistol. The case hardened coloring is amazing.Exactly what I wanted, At the range it ran flawlessly,that 3" barrel was very accurate even at 25 yards. I was able to hit the gong repeatedly at 50 yards. So yes I highly recommend this pistol. The only negative was the grips could have been nicer. I ordered a set of stag grips for it. Buy it you will be amazed at the quality.

The color case...
The color case hardening is this beautiful bronze that I totally didn't expect. I own and have owned other Pietta guns, and the color is not the same. I name the gun Mr Brownstone. It functions perfectly mechanically, locks up tight. The shorter barrel looks proportional, I was worried it wouldn't. I actually bought this gun with Buds gift cards.

A: Hi Daren and welcome. This would depend on when the pistol was manufactured. There was a transition to transfer bars and floating firing pins on these single action revolvers.
