Buds was excellent as always. The SP101 is as straight forward as it gets and feels overbuilt for the .38 special which is a good thing. Reliable and rugged are the two words that come to mind, needed a no nonsense revolver for my collection and this one fits the bill. Single action pull feels great, double action takes a few range trips to break in then it feels good. Accuracy of the irons is also good but definitely will be painting the front blade. Can't go wrong with this revolver.

A: here you are the above ruger is legal in CA " Must be on Department of Justice (DOJ) Handgun Roster to ship*. Every specification for the firearm must match what is on the roster, otherwise it cannot be shipped. Models listed on the "Olympic Pistol Exemptions" are permitted. Springfield 1911s must have "CA" in the model number to ship, excepting Springfield custom 'Professional' models PC9111 & PC9111LR, which are permissible without the 'CA' designation. Effective 1 January 2017, "fixed magazine" is defined by California SB 880/AB 1135 as: "an ammunition feeding device contained in, or permanently attached to, a firearm in such a manner that the device cannot be removed without disassembly of the firearm action." Any semiautomatic pistols that do not have a fixed magazine, but have any one of the following: o Threaded barrel capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or suppressor. o Second handgrip o A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encir

A: Dylan, this revolver falls under a previous CA compliant statute. It net CA requirement for trigger pull, drop safety and being a "Revolver". Newly imposed or soon to be imposed CA restrictions is quickly whittling down the number of CA compliant handguns. A: They do make the sp101 in .357(which can also shoot .38)... however they do also make dedicated .38 versions (which cannot shoot .357).
The model in question is a dedicated .38 version
