Great job by buds. Gun...
Great job by buds. Gun got to my FFL very quickly. This a great gun overall. The fit and finish is top tier. I love the overall look and feel. The one gripe I would have is the retractable firing pin. I would and do NOT trust this gun with 6 loaded. After closer inspection the retractable firing pin itself just blatantly seems like an afterthought, and probably not as ideal as intended. If you want a safety I'd recommend something with a transfer bar. Now if you prefer the old hammer aesthetic then I'd suggest to buy one without the retractable firing pin because eventually you'll have to replace it. If you want a single action with a retractable firing pin then this is the gun for you.

Fit and finish of this...
Fit and finish of this revolver is very close to that of a SAA. I would not hesitate to purchase another. I'm not too enthusiastic about the firing pin mechanism and no safety notch as I am not sure that I would trust it if it was dropped with six in the cylinder. I carry five. The original design was fine.

Questions & Answers
Q: Hey guys. So I purchased this gun after lots of research. I have not received it yet. Item description is not clear. Is this gun made by Uberti? And does this gun have the transfer bar safety? The "Taylor's" confuses me as they import but not make the gun? And I do not want the transfer bar or retractable firing pin safety in hammer.

Q: Hey guys, so I've done TONS of research and watched hundreds of videos. I bought this gun but have not received it yet. With so many models of this gun out there, can anyone tell me DEFINITIVELY, will the hammer have 4 clicks or 3, and will it have retractable firing pin or the notched retainer for hammer safety?

(3) ANSWERS
A: Yes it does have 3 clicks Dominic. Thorough review and details here : https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2015/3/9/review-taylors-co-1873-cattleman-gunfighter/

A: yes it has the 3 clicks from a good article "It should be noted here that the hammer has three positions, each of which is accompanied by a distinctive "click" as the hammer moves through its arch of travel. The first click is the safe position. Thanks to a modern hammer safety, not found on the original 1873 model, the Cattleman revolvers can be carried with all six chambers loaded when the hammer is in this first position. The second click frees the cylinder to rotate clockwise for loading. The third click is fully cocked. With the hammer in this position the revolver is ready to fire." link to article https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2015/3/9/review-taylors-co-1873-cattleman-gunfighter/

Q: The 2 gentleman that answered my previous question with 3, answered the same question with 4 a month ago. This is exactly why I'm confused and there are articles and videos for both. So what is the model difference? I will have to get Bud's to pull the actual item apparently.
