I have been wanting to...

I have been wanting to buy a 9 mm carbine for several years. I decided to purchase this one from Buds for several reasons. I found the price reasonable, ordering it was easy, shipping/delivery was good! Love the free shipping and I trust Buds with my private information. Now to the gun itself. Received my carbine in a timely manner, and once at home I inspected it, and reviewed the manual. I proceeded to test it with 5 rounds of 115 RN FMJ. Rifle fired all the rounds without issue. I then put a rifle scope, 4x12x40, to help with accuracy. I used 115 Rn ball ammo to site it in, but also shot 124 RN in it I sited this rifle in at 50 yards with 115 RN.. Once sighted in,(grouped at about 2.5 inch), I ran over 100 rounds thru the carbine, with no issues or cycling problems. Overall, this is a great little gun to shoot. Only thing I had issue with is the trigger. It's pretty stiff, but I can live with that. There is a small gap at the bottom of the trigger that grabs your finger a bit. It's not a deal breaker, but wish Hi Point would address that on their rifles. With that said, I found it to be an excellent little rifle. I was astonished at how reliable and accurate this little gun was! If your looking for a modest price, plinking and home defense rifle, this is it. I am planning on buying another one in 40 cal, 10 mm, or a 45ACP. Just haven't decided yet. And the gun is tough as nails. I believe you will be shooting this thing for the next 50 years. Love the gun!

Pleasantly surprised...

Pleasantly surprised by this gun. It's accurate, because I put a relatively cheap ($60) red dot on it and once I got it sighted in, I hit a 12" round metal target at 100 yards, 28 of 30 shots. I also like it because unlike the 7.62's I usually shoot, this gun doesn't kick near as much and 9mm cost about half of what 7.62's cost. More fun and less expensive. I also added a recoil pad on the butt stock and that really seemed to make it fit and feel better. Definitely a good buy!
