Picked up the M&P FPC...
Picked up the M&P FPC a couple weeks ago, and honestly, it's exceeded my expectations. I got it mostly for range fun and as a potential backpack/truck gun, and it fits that role perfectly. The folding mechanism is slick. It folds to the left, and since the ejection port stays clear, it's super fast to deploy. Lock-up is solid—no wiggle or looseness, which was something I was worried about. Folded, it's small enough to fit into a standard backpack or sling bag, making it really easy to transport without drawing attention. Out of the box, it runs great. I've put about 500 rounds through it—mostly cheap 115gr FMJ—and haven't had a single malfunction. It's accurate out to 50–100 yards, especially with a red dot (highly recommend tossing one on). The blowback action has a bit of a kick for a 9mm carbine, but nothing uncomfortable. It's fun to shoot and quick to stay on target with. Controls feel familiar if you're used to the M&P platform, and I love that it takes M&P mags. Huge plus. The stock even holds two spare mags, which is a genius touch for something designed with portability in mind. My only minor gripe is the trigger—it's not bad, but it feels more like a handgun trigger than a carbine trigger. Still totally usable, just something to get used to. Also, the charging handle location is a bit different, but again, once you run a few drills with it, it becomes second nature. Overall, this is a great PCC if you want something unique, compact, and easy to store. Whether it's for range fun, a truck gun, or just something different in the safe, the FPC delivers. 5/5 — Fun, functional, and worth it.

Q: Hello I am wondering if this is legal in New York State?
Author: Aseel M.
(4) ANSWERS
A: Hi Aseel, unfortunately no. This gun has a threaded barrel and a threaded barrel is banned for a semi-auto rifle in NY. https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/new_york_restrictions.pdf , Stay safe & have a great day!

A: No, it is not. There is no way to make it "NY compliant".

A: Hi Aseel and welcome. No Sir. Even the non-threaded version is not compliant due to the Pistol Grip: https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/157180/smith+%26+wesson+m%26p+fpc+9mm+16.25+10rd+black

Q: According to S&W website, this version is Illinois legal... Just wanted verify if it's legal in illinois
Author: John N.
(1) ANSWER
A: Hi John, yes sir, this is legal in Illinois. It does not have a pistol grip (CA fin grip), it does not have a folding stock (the gun itself folds in half), a threaded barrel is allowed (do not attach a flash suppressor), and a handguard is not considered a barrel shroud, so this is good to go. https://www.budsgunshop.com/feeds/state_reg/illinois_restrictions.pdf , Stay safe & have a great day!

Q: Hey Bud's, in order to dispel any confusion, could you please explicitly state that this is in fact the CA-compliant model (which it is).

A: Hi Gian and welcome. This is the CA compliant model. Since the members here are customers as well, I have sent this suggestion to Buds. You can also at the following link: https://www.budsgunshop.com/contact_us.php?printForm=reportError ------------- Cheers and stay safe!

A: Hi Glan, with so many guns and so many different laws in each state, it would be impossible to list state compliance on every gun. Gun buyers need to do their homework and should know if it is state compliant before purchase. Sorry to sound so harsh, but ultimately the buyer is responsible for knowing the law. Stay safe & have a great day!
