I purchased the Desert...
I purchased the Desert Eagle 50 AE couple of weeks ago and have not had a chance to try it yet. Until today I made it to the range. I did put a red dot on this. All I can say is WOW!! If you're looking for a hand cannon that you can shoot more than once without your wrist hurting, this is the model. This was the first time I had purchased a unit online anywhere. Bud's came highly recommended. I used Tom @ Cream City to facilitate the purchase. Both companies were awesome, shipping was fast the whole process took less than seven days. So, I've wanted a BFG...
So, I've wanted a BFG like the DE50 for quite a long time. I wanted the stainless version, but picked up the all-black one when it became available. After some getting used to it, I absolutely love this beast. It is heavy. It is loud. When you go to the range, everyone stops shooting when you fire it because it is so obnoxious, which is exactly why I love it so much. If you ever wanted a BFG, this is it in hand-held form-factor. I shoot it left handed, mostly...wishing that I had one for each hand. I *still* can't get more than 4 rounds into the magazines because they're so tight. However, I'm fairly sure that if you ever had to use this piece "in the wild" that the first round would be enough to ensure that everyone else decided to leave. This is like a grizzly bear compared to a poodle. If you're betting on the outcome, I'd be wondering if the bear needs a toothpick to get the poodle hair out of his teeth. This thing makes a .45 ACP seem passive. My daily carry is a .45 FNX and the DE50 makes it feel like a 9mm. I love this gun and will very likely buy another one for my "other hand." Still kind of want the stainless version, but the black is definitely more stealthy. At the range, absolutely nobody asks you what you're shooting and at least half of the range personnel don't even want to try it out. I'm a rather large person, but if you're not very large, you probably want to stick with a .45 as the upper limit. This thing is the .45's big brother but with an attitude. You can definitely one-hand it, but you better be fairly stout because it does pack a punch...not much room for the timid here. These are the absolute definition of BFG. You truly don't need one. You have to want one...or two...one for each hand.

A: Jason - you'll get one 7 round mag with this pistol. I believe you will be ready to take a short 'rest' after firing those seven rounds, and use reloading as justification for the break. I seriously doubt you'll be going through one mag, then doing speed reloads and going through another 7 rounds, one after the other. This pistol is a real handful ... But extra mags are readily available, if you don;t mind paying the prices.
