Purchased this shotgun in 7/2022 and finally writing my thoughts on it in 01/2023. What is there to say? It's a single shot shotgun. For something so simple, the quality is amazing. Having an ejector instead of an extractor on a shotgun like this is a simple but very nice feature in my opinion. I do feel like it could use a better recoil pad and maybe just a little more weight somehow. Try a 3.5" turkey load and you will see why. I am still very satisfied over all.

So, I wanted to get...
So, I wanted to get back to basics, have something light weight that gets the job done. When I came across the henry single shot 12 gauge with 3 1/2 inch chamber, I knew I had found my gun. The fact that it has interchangeable choke tubes makes it perfect for me. I can use this gun for light work, all the way up to heavy hitting turkey loads. The quality of this gun is not reflected in photos. When you pick it up, it gives you a sense that you're holding in your hand something important. The American walnut is just beautiful. The gun is just beautiful. I have been putting my favorite choke tubes in, and sending shells down range. I just can't say how much I love it. in addition, it is unique and very purpose built. I will be using it to harvest Game and fill my freezer for years to come. I will never sell this gun, I will just hand it down in my family. It is just so darn beautiful.

Q: Does this have an extractor or ejector?

A: Allen, this shotgun has an ejector Sir. Shells are fully ejected on opening the action for a quick follow-up shot if needed, not just partially extracted.

Q: I understand that this comes with a modified choke for shot shells...manual states not to fire with slugs without a choke, as it will damage internal threads...what choke should I use for slugs? Thx

(1) ANSWER
A: foster (rifled slugs) type slugs will be fine in the modified choke but they may be more accurate with a cylinder or IC choke but the only way to know is to try them with all 3 chokes
